[La Paranza del Geco] is the most important Artistic Company of Northern Italy active in the representation and in protecting the tradition of folk music and the art of dancing from Southern Italy: an artistic laboratory which is one of a kind, and by now a solid point of reference in the Turin scene, active in Italy and abroad since 1999. It was founded by Simone Campa, current artistic director and company musician, and today has approximately thirty artists-musicians, singers, percussionists, actors, dancers, performers and street artists. With their performances they create once again the atmosphere of some of the most enthralling folk festivals of the South, guaranteeing performances of the highest cultural  value, thanks to in depth research work and thanks to great energy and dynamic force and thanks to the professional experience of the members of the crew in the fields of music and dance.




The artistic production of [la Paranza del Geco] is a result of the continuous research work and study of the folk traditions of Southern Italy and it is characterized by strong experimentation and mixing of diverse styles and expressive languages tied to the various forms of performance, both contemporary and traditional, not to mention the most varied artistic contexts apparently distant from each other: from the theatrical review of ethnic and folk music festivals, from patronal folk festivals to buskers festivals and street theatre, always able to maintain in their exhibitions a high level of artistic spontaneity and audience involvement. All the performances of these brightly colored and colorful ensemble, ambassadors below the Alps of various Southern folk traditions such as the pizziche, tarantelle, tammurriate & co., faithfully recreate the atmosphere of the most enthralling popular folk festivals of Southern Italy, uniting the cultural value of the research and proposing the energy and dynamic force of a performance of an high artistic value.
